A chartered sailboat among the islands of the Stockholm or Turku archipelagos in the long light of midsummer — private crew, island saunas and harbours the ferries never reach.
The Stockholm archipelago counts some 30,000 islands and skerries, and Finland's Turku archipelago is of a similar scale. Between them lies some of the most sheltered, quietly beautiful cruising water in Europe — island villages, smooth granite swimming rocks and harbours too small for anything scheduled.
One honest note on the light: at these latitudes there is no true midnight sun — that belongs to the far north, above the Arctic Circle. What midsummer brings instead is the white nights: the sun sets late and shallow and it never gets properly dark. Sailing at eleven in the evening in golden light is the real version, and it needs no exaggerating.
Charters run with a skipper, and with a cook on larger boats. Island stops are planned but never rigid — a sauna on one island, seafood at the next, swimming off the stern in between.
Stockholm and Turku sit below the Arctic Circle — clients get white nights, not the true midnight sun. We say this plainly; the experience needs no overselling.
The archipelagos are sheltered, but sailing is still weather-dependent. Skippers adjust the route daily — that flexibility is part of the charm, and we brief clients so they expect it.
From day-sailers for a couple to crewed yachts for a family. The best boats for midsummer weeks are reserved months ahead.
